Polaris The current star to which the north celestial pole of earths points also called the north star
Latitude Parallel east to west to the equator measure in degrees north to south
Longitude An angular distance to a globe that runs perpendicular north to south of the equator
Ellipse An oval shaped closed curve the shape of a planets orbit
Summer Solstice The summer solstice occurs when the earth is tilted the most to the sun
Winter Solstice Winter solstice is the time in December where the sun is the farthest away from the celestial equator
Equinox Either of two times of the year(fall or spring)during a planets orbit when the north and south poles are equidistant from the sun, causing day and night to be equal in length
